Hello my dear friends and cherished clients of the salon!

It’s been a crazy 3 weeks of re-integrating back into working in the salonI!  I’ll tell you all about it just for fun, but spoiler alert - my plan to work behind the chair for 5 more years has changed. I’m writing to let you know that I am going to finish out the appointments I have scheduled through January, not accept any more appointments, and wrap up my career as a hairstylist…for now.

I want you to know that I appreciate you all very much, enjoy you, and love you!  I was anxious about the jobs of juggling both salons and working in my suite, but hoped to get things settled down and get back to work. Some of you have found a new stylist that you love and have enjoyed some new style ideas. Some of you have not had great interim experiences, and some of you have just been patiently waiting for me to figure my life out!  I appreciate all of the above more than you know and apologize if you’re pretty frustrated with me. I understand!

I will be happy to give you a referral for someone new, and I will always be glad to pass along the color formulas or anything else that we have figured out in our time together. Just reach out to me if you need any info!

If you’re interested in what’s been going on, read on. If you are seeing me in the next few weeks, I can give you the live version. Or you can skip it altogether!

First week back, I had a small, but sad and disruptive, family emergency involving my dad that caused me to reschedule that Friday into the next week. I got to the next week, and I got the flu - and I mean the knock-me-off-my-butt kind of flu that I pray to God I didn’t give to any of you!!!  Then last Tuesday night our new salon flooded due to something that happened with our brand new washing machine, and we had quite the mess! And just as I was getting over the flu, a sinus infection took me down again!

And in the middle of all of this, but before the flood, I had an opportunity come to me like a ray of sunshine!  A company called Franchise Marketing Solutions has contracted with us to franchise Utopia!!!  By early May we should be completed and on the market. This is going to take another slice of my time to do my part, and I didn’t really have an extra slice.

So if you believe in things like God and/or The Universe, you’ll notice the gentle nudges I’ve been getting the last few weeks!  Change is hard, and while I lied around feeling sorry for myself being sick for a week, I came to terms with the closing of one chapter and the opening of another. Scary but exciting!

Stay in touch with me!  Text me your big life updates and take me to lunch sometime!  Your support throughout all of this craziness has not gone unnoticed and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for trusting me with your hair and your life stories. And remember, if you have an appointment on the book, I’ll see you there! (Greenwich Salon, Suite 117)

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Kristin
